Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Telecoms and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO), which rose 12.28% or 0.490 points to trade at 4.480 at the close. Bizim Toptan Satis Magazalari AS (IS:BIZIM) added 6.16% or 0.45 points to end at 7.75 and Anadolu Cam Sanayi AS (IS:ANACM) was up 5.90% or 0.190 points to 3.410 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA), which lost 4.52% or 0.200 points to trade at 4.220 in late trade. Migros Ticaret AS (IS:MGROS) declined 4.49% or 1.08 points to end at 23.00 and CarrefourSA Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) shed 4.29% or 0.26 points to 5.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 253 to 122 and 36 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.85% or 11.20 to $1306.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.75% or 1.08 to hit $60.56 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.98% or 1.28 to trade at $63.45 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.29% to 3.8098, while EUR/TRY rose 0.17% to 4.6436.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 90.79.
