Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Tourism and Sports sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kocaer Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KCAER), which rose 6.67% or 3.19 points to trade at 51.05 at the close. Agrotech Yuksek Teknoloji ve Yatirim AS (IS:AGROT) added 4.23% or 0.90 points to end at 22.18 and TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) was up 3.68% or 9.75 points to 274.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA), which lost 8.67% or 1.02 points to trade at 10.75 in late trade. Ard Grup Bilisim Teknolojileri AS (IS:ARDYZ) declined 4.46% or 1.76 points to end at 37.70 and Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) shed 3.96% or 2.30 points to 55.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 391 to 172 and 9 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.14% or 51.75 to $2,363.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.31% or 0.24 to hit $77.83 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $81.72 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.71% to 33.01, while EUR/TRY rose 0.93% to 35.95.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 104.03.
