Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Textile & Leather and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Bizim Toptan Satis Magazalari AS (IS:BIZIM), which rose 6.31% or 0.38 points to trade at 6.40 at the close. Alarko Holding AS (IS:ALARK) added 4.68% or 0.110 points to end at 2.460 and Alkim Alkali Kimya AS (IS:ALKIM) was up 2.94% or 0.70 points to 24.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arcelik AS (IS:ARCLK), which lost 4.71% or 0.64 points to trade at 12.95 in late trade. Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE) declined 4.45% or 0.110 points to end at 2.360 and Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) shed 4.17% or 0.170 points to 3.910.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 232 to 116 and 56 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.27% or 3.30 to $1203.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.40% or 0.30 to hit $75.53 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.66% or 0.56 to trade at $85.36 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.44% to 6.0114, while EUR/TRY rose 0.23% to 6.9333.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 95.31.
