Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Banking and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA), which rose 19.94% or 0.720 points to trade at 4.330 at the close. Tat Gida Sanayi AS (IS:TATGD) added 8.68% or 0.460 points to end at 5.760 and Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS) was up 6.62% or 2.02 points to 32.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tumosan Motor ve Traktor Sanayi AS (IS:TMSN), which lost 4.83% or 0.430 points to trade at 8.480 in late trade. SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) declined 4.35% or 0.500 points to end at 11.000 and Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) shed 4.15% or 0.26 points to 6.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 237 to 116 and 54 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.58% or 21.00 to $1351.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $59.22 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.22 to trade at $62.94 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.49% to 3.7911, while EUR/TRY fell 0.07% to 4.7045.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 89.18.
