Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Basic Metals and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Torunlar Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:TRGYO), which rose 5.46% or 0.34 points to trade at 6.57 at the close. Gubre Fabrikalari TAS (IS:GUBRF) added 3.66% or 0.19 points to end at 5.38 and ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) was up 3.43% or 0.200 points to 6.030 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD), which lost 4.96% or 0.130 points to trade at 2.490 in late trade. Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT) declined 4.53% or 0.960 points to end at 20.240 and Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) shed 4.20% or 0.440 points to 10.030.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 232 to 128 and 49 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.43% or 5.72 to $1326.98 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.56% or 0.75 to hit $48.98 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.11% or 0.60 to trade at $54.87 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.68% to 3.4566, while EUR/TRY rose 0.04% to 4.1136.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 92.36.
