Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Sports, Telecoms and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gubre Fabrikalari TAS (IS:GUBRF), which rose 9.99% or 15.30 points to trade at 168.50 at the close. Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN) added 4.75% or 630.00 points to end at 13,900.00 and Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) was up 4.59% or 2.55 points to 58.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mavi Giyim Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAVI), which lost 5.04% or 6.10 points to trade at 115.00 in late trade. Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) declined 4.93% or 0.61 points to end at 11.77 and Cw Enerji Muhendislik Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:CWENE) shed 4.57% or 11.50 points to 240.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 294 to 256 and 21 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.88% or 21.25 to $2,428.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.56% or 1.20 to hit $78.16 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.43% or 1.16 to trade at $82.17 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.03% to 32.84, while EUR/TRY rose 0.04% to 35.69.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 103.92.
