Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Transport and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi AS (IS:TSKB), which rose 5.26% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.600 at the close. Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS) added 3.15% or 0.170 points to end at 5.570 and Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:EKGYO) was up 3.00% or 0.080 points to 2.750 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ), which lost 4.07% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.180 in late trade. Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) declined 3.87% or 0.63 points to end at 15.66 and Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS) shed 3.86% or 1.32 points to 32.88.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 258 to 102 and 45 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.01% or 0.20 to $1356.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.43% or 0.28 to hit $65.89 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.37% or 0.26 to trade at $70.79 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.10% to 3.7351, while EUR/TRY rose 0.62% to 4.6697.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 88.49.
