Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Sports, Basic Metals and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.80% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Baticim Bati Anadolu Cimento Sanayi AS (IS:BTCIM), which rose 5.93% or 10.50 points to trade at 187.50 at the close. Sdt Uzay ve Savunma Teknolojileri AS (IS:SDTTR) added 2.92% or 8.25 points to end at 290.75 and Akbank TAS (IS:AKBNK) was up 2.36% or 1.25 points to 54.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER), which lost 8.77% or 14.90 points to trade at 155.00 in late trade. Katilimevim Tasarruf Finansman AS (IS:KTLEV) declined 7.74% or 3.95 points to end at 47.10 and 1000 Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:BINHO) shed 4.88% or 20.50 points to 399.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 426 to 137 and 10 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.01% or 25.00 to $2,498.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.23% or 1.71 to hit $78.55 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.72% or 1.37 to trade at $81.03 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.21% to 33.55, while EUR/TRY rose 0.15% to 36.71.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.00% at 102.96.
