Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Sports and Metal Products & Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Reeder Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:REEDR), which rose 9.98% or 3.26 points to trade at 35.92 at the close. Sdt Uzay ve Savunma Teknolojileri AS (IS:SDTTR) added 9.98% or 26.00 points to end at 286.50 and Peker Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:PEKGY) was up 9.97% or 0.86 points to 9.49 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK), which lost 5.44% or 1.80 points to trade at 31.26 in late trade. Akbank TAS (IS:AKBNK) declined 4.58% or 3.10 points to end at 64.60 and Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN) shed 4.33% or 1.00 points to 22.12.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 300 to 248 and 24 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.15% or 3.65 to $2,359.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.17% or 0.96 to hit $81.37 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.13% or 0.97 to trade at $84.78 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.63% to 32.88, while EUR/TRY rose 0.54% to 35.58.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 104.87.
