Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Transport and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB), which rose 6.53% or 1.07 points to trade at 17.45 at the close. Can2 Termik AS (IS:CANTE) added 6.06% or 0.10 points to end at 1.75 and Katilimevim Tasarruf Finansman AS (IS:KTLEV) was up 5.36% or 2.38 points to 46.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mavi Giyim Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAVI), which lost 5.58% or 6.00 points to trade at 101.60 in late trade. Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK) declined 2.98% or 0.98 points to end at 31.94 and Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) shed 2.71% or 1.50 points to 53.95.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 373 to 182 and 23 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.47% or 11.80 to $2,537.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.92% or 0.64 to hit $69.84 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.81% or 0.59 to trade at $73.29 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.10% to 33.95, while EUR/TRY fell 0.21% to 37.62.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 101.25.
