Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Textile & Leather, Banking and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were EIS Eczacibasi Ilac Sinai ve Finansal Yatirimlar Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ECILC), which rose 19.95% or 0.750 points to trade at 4.510 at the close. Eczacibasi Yatirim Holding Ortakligi AS (IS:ECZYT) added 9.86% or 0.92 points to end at 10.25 and Aksa Enerji Uretim AS (IS:AKSEN) was up 5.23% or 0.180 points to 3.620 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA), which lost 6.25% or 0.150 points to trade at 2.250 in late trade. Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) declined 4.38% or 0.84 points to end at 18.32 and Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME) shed 3.56% or 0.110 points to 2.980.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 181 to 154 and 71 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.43% or 5.43 to $1262.67 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.06% or 0.53 to hit $49.27 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.42% or 0.75 to trade at $51.89 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.91% to 3.5438, while EUR/TRY fell 0.80% to 3.9632.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 97.25.
