Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Technology and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 2.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which rose 18.52% or 1.75 points to trade at 11.20 at the close. Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) added 7.00% or 1.05 points to end at 16.05 and Bagfas (IS:BAGFS) was up 4.94% or 0.65 points to 13.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adel Kalemcilik (IS:ADEL), which lost 5.18% or 3.75 points to trade at 68.70 in late trade. Menderes Tekstil (IS:MNDRS) declined 1.69% or 0.010 points to end at 0.590 and Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) shed 1.49% or 0.010 points to 0.670.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 324 to 77 and 14 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.15% or 1.80 to $1161.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.65% or 1.37 to hit $53.02 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 3.43% or 1.96 to trade at $59.01 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.33% to 2.6793, while EUR/TRY fell 0.74% to 2.9566.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.37% at 96.73.
