Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Sports, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 21.13% or 4.10 points to trade at 23.50 at the close. Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) added 17.31% or 4.05 points to end at 27.45 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) was up 7.84% or 1.00 points to 13.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES), which lost 3.91% or 1.00 points to trade at 24.55 in late trade. Otokar (IS:OTKAR) declined 2.46% or 2.20 points to end at 87.30 and Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) shed 1.67% or 0.010 points to 0.600.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 236 to 174 and 8 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.08% or 0.90 to $1157.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.11% or 0.06 to hit $52.80 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.32% or 0.19 to trade at $58.81 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.71% to 2.6484, while EUR/TRY fell 1.86% to 2.9203.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.91% at 96.83.
