Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Information Technology and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.60% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ), which rose 6.49% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.820 at the close. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) added 4.14% or 0.060 points to end at 1.510 and Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS) was up 3.77% or 0.80 points to 22.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO), which lost 3.36% or 0.100 points to trade at 2.880 in late trade. Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) declined 2.63% or 0.86 points to end at 31.90 and Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) shed 2.33% or 0.010 points to 0.420.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 184 to 165 and 58 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.57% or 6.95 to $1236.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $48.84 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $51.84 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.21% to 3.5554, while EUR/TRY rose 1.09% to 3.9378.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.66% at 98.16.
