Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Metals and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.40% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ayen Enerji (IS:AYEN), which rose 4.08% or 0.160 points to trade at 4.080 at the close. Gozde Girisim (IS:GOZDE) added 4.07% or 0.090 points to end at 2.300 and Aselsan (IS:ASELS) was up 3.72% or 0.70 points to 19.53 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN), which lost 3.17% or 0.30 points to trade at 9.16 in late trade. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) declined 2.67% or 0.53 points to end at 19.31 and Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) shed 2.64% or 1.20 points to 44.24.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 175 to 157 and 71 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.13% or 1.70 to $1267.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $49.01 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.04 to trade at $51.86 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.28% to 3.5516, while EUR/TRY fell 0.23% to 3.8683.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 98.97.
