Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alkim Kimya (IS:ALKIM), which rose 7.63% or 0.95 points to trade at 13.40 at the close. Turk Traktor (IS:TTRAK) added 5.40% or 3.75 points to end at 73.20 and Otokar (IS:OTKAR) was up 4.38% or 3.60 points to 85.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which lost 19.18% or 2.35 points to trade at 9.90 in late trade. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 4.17% or 0.010 points to end at 0.240 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) shed 3.56% or 0.85 points to 23.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 203 to 198 and 11 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.27% or 3.00 to $1090.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.59% or 0.29 to hit $49.08 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.70% or 0.38 to trade at $53.76 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.87% to 2.7896, while EUR/TRY rose 0.28% to 3.0478.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.53% at 97.74.
