Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Textile & Leather and Leasing & Factoring sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO), which rose 5.23% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.810 at the close. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) added 5.12% or 0.88 points to end at 18.06 and Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) was up 3.90% or 1.52 points to 40.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turk Telekom (IS:TTKOM), which lost 5.57% or 0.39 points to trade at 6.61 in late trade. Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) declined 4.66% or 1.02 points to end at 20.88 and Bizim Magazalari (IS:BIZIM) shed 3.77% or 0.65 points to 16.59.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 168 to 166 and 76 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.07% or 0.90 to $1253.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.68% or 0.30 to hit $43.88 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.94% or 0.43 to trade at $45.37 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.46% to 2.8256, while EUR/TRY rose 0.61% to 3.1979.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 94.45.
