Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Metals and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 2.62% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL), which rose 11.54% or 1.140 points to trade at 11.020 at the close. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) added 11.16% or 0.270 points to end at 2.690 and Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE) was up 7.27% or 0.280 points to 4.130 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN), which lost 3.37% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.010 in late trade. Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS) declined 1.94% or 0.66 points to end at 33.28 and DO & Co AG (IS:DOCO) shed 1.64% or 3.30 points to 198.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 201 to 160 and 44 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.54% or 6.81 to $1277.31 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $54.31 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.26% or 0.16 to trade at $60.78 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.73% to 3.8188, while EUR/TRY rose 0.48% to 4.4375.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 94.69.
