Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 2.62% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alfa Solar Enerji AS (IS:ALFAS), which rose 10.00% or 6.80 points to trade at 74.80 at the close. Kaleseramik Canakkale Kalebodur Seramik Sanayi AS (IS:KLSER) added 9.95% or 4.84 points to end at 53.50 and Gubre Fabrikalari TAS (IS:GUBRF) was up 9.94% or 13.80 points to 152.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Peker Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:PEKGY), which lost 9.94% or 0.85 points to trade at 7.70 in late trade. Turkiye Sigorta AS (IS:TURSG) declined 1.24% or 0.85 points to end at 67.75 and TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) shed 1.00% or 2.75 points to 273.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 455 to 100 and 15 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 2.04% or 48.65 to $2,428.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.62% or 0.51 to hit $82.61 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.44 to trade at $85.52 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.08% to 32.83, while EUR/TRY rose 0.16% to 35.68.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 104.10.
