Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Basic Metals and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 2.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL), which rose 7.02% or 3.60 points to trade at 54.90 at the close. Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:EKGYO) added 6.49% or 0.63 points to end at 10.33 and Haci Omer Sabanci Holding AS (IS:SAHOL) was up 6.49% or 6.10 points to 100.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Enerya Enerji AS (IS:ENERY), which lost 4.49% or 8.90 points to trade at 189.50 in late trade. Ard Grup Bilisim Teknolojileri AS (IS:ARDYZ) declined 2.51% or 0.90 points to end at 34.98 and Agrotech Yuksek Teknoloji ve Yatirim AS (IS:AGROT) shed 2.37% or 0.33 points to 13.61.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 301 to 256 and 12 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.61% or 37.50 to $2,370.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.07% or 0.06 to hit $82.75 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.03 to trade at $86.21 a barrel.
USD/TRY was unchanged 0.00% to 32.55, while EUR/TRY rose 0.48% to 35.14.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 104.92.
