Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Insurance and Leasing & Factoring sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 2.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were BIM Birlesik Magazalar AS (IS:BIMAS), which rose 7.68% or 37.50 points to trade at 526.00 at the close. Migros Ticaret AS (IS:MGROS) added 7.27% or 35.50 points to end at 523.50 and Say Yenilenebilir Enerji Ekipmanları Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi (IS:SAYAS) was up 7.21% or 4.40 points to 65.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Baticim Bati Anadolu Cimento Sanayi AS (IS:BTCIM), which lost 2.87% or 4.30 points to trade at 145.70 in late trade. Kontrolmatik Teknoloji Enerji ve Mu (IS:KONTR) declined 2.50% or 4.50 points to end at 175.50 and Europower Enerji ve Otomasyon Teknolojileri Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:EUPWR) shed 2.32% or 2.50 points to 105.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 503 to 59 and 8 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.31% or 30.80 to $2,324.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $78.44 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $82.59 a barrel.
USD/TRY was unchanged 0.01% to 32.31, while EUR/TRY rose 0.21% to 34.99.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 104.64.
