Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Transport, Electricity and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 2.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN), which rose 12.63% or 0.250 points to trade at 2.230 at the close. SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) added 8.71% or 1.010 points to end at 12.610 and Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) was up 5.95% or 0.870 points to 15.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ), which lost 2.65% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.100 in late trade. Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) declined 2.31% or 0.52 points to end at 22.02 and Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) shed 1.85% or 0.010 points to 0.530.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 242 to 108 and 52 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.02% or 0.30 to $1334.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.54% or 0.35 to hit $63.95 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.21% or 0.85 to trade at $69.41 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.02% to 3.8003, while EUR/TRY fell 0.20% to 4.6502.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 90.38.
