Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Insurance and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Agrotech Yuksek Teknoloji ve Yatirim AS (IS:AGROT), which rose 9.93% or 1.27 points to trade at 14.06 at the close. Europower Enerji ve Otomasyon Teknolojileri Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:EUPWR) added 7.85% or 2.24 points to end at 30.76 and Reeder Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:REEDR) was up 7.47% or 1.52 points to 21.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Katilimevim Tasarruf Finansman AS (IS:KTLEV), which lost 1.59% or 0.85 points to trade at 52.70 in late trade. TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) declined 1.06% or 2.40 points to end at 224.20 and Turkiye Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB) shed 0.87% or 0.13 points to 14.74.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 495 to 66 and 19 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.52% or 14.20 to $2,743.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.71% or 0.50 to hit $70.27 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.57% or 0.43 to trade at $74.53 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.06% to 34.23, while EUR/TRY fell 0.09% to 36.96.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 104.10.
