Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Holdings & Investments, Metal Products & Machinery and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.63% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Mavi Giyim Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAVI), which rose 7.92% or 2.74 points to trade at 37.34 at the close. Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) added 7.23% or 0.31 points to end at 4.60 and Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) was up 6.67% or 0.020 points to 0.320 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR), which lost 12.75% or 0.190 points to trade at 1.300 in late trade. Vakif Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:VKGYO) declined 7.14% or 0.160 points to end at 2.080 and CarrefourSA Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) shed 2.79% or 0.11 points to 3.83.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 263 to 94 and 50 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.19% or 2.45 to $1281.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $52.62 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.65% or 0.40 to trade at $60.74 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.63% to 5.2492, while EUR/TRY fell 0.84% to 5.9607.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 95.990.
