Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Sports, Banking and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were 1000 Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:BINHO), which rose 9.96% or 41.50 points to trade at 458.25 at the close. Oba Makarnacilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:OBAMS) added 6.26% or 2.28 points to end at 38.68 and Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK) was up 5.96% or 1.80 points to 32.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Baticim Bati Anadolu Cimento Sanayi AS (IS:BTCIM), which lost 6.00% or 11.10 points to trade at 173.80 in late trade. Oyak Cimento Fabrikalari AS (IS:OYAKC) declined 5.68% or 4.50 points to end at 74.75 and Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR) shed 3.03% or 18.50 points to 592.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 481 to 86 and 8 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.81% or 20.10 to $2,493.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.63% or 0.49 to hit $77.42 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.31 to trade at $80.53 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.16% to 33.09, while EUR/TRY fell 0.35% to 35.79.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 104.16.
