Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Holdings & Investments and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Halk Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:HLGYO), which rose 10.45% or 0.070 points to trade at 0.740 at the close. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) added 7.45% or 0.550 points to end at 7.930 and Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) was up 5.43% or 0.400 points to 7.760 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR), which lost 4.29% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.340 in late trade. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 3.23% or 0.010 points to end at 0.300 and Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA) shed 2.60% or 0.80 points to 30.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 234 to 133 and 38 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.24% or 3.00 to $1247.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.70% or 0.36 to hit $51.51 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.29 to trade at $60.44 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.03% to 5.3502, while EUR/TRY rose 0.02% to 6.0842.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 97.190.
