Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Transport and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS), which rose 7.62% or 16.00 points to trade at 226.00 at the close. Baticim Bati Anadolu Cimento Sanayi AS (IS:BTCIM) added 7.14% or 10.00 points to end at 150.00 and Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) was up 5.65% or 57.00 points to 1,065.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Reeder Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:REEDR), which lost 5.15% or 2.06 points to trade at 37.94 in late trade. Alfa Solar Enerji AS (IS:ALFAS) declined 3.13% or 2.20 points to end at 68.20 and Izdemir Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:IZENR) shed 3.06% or 0.68 points to 21.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 325 to 233 and 11 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.95% or 22.05 to $2,348.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.21% or 0.16 to hit $78.06 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.24 to trade at $82.16 a barrel.
USD/TRY was unchanged 0.01% to 32.33, while EUR/TRY rose 0.87% to 35.10.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.23% at 103.91.
