Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transport, Basic Metals and Sports sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS), which rose 5.78% or 1.680 points to trade at 30.760 at the close. Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS) added 5.25% or 0.210 points to end at 4.210 and Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) was up 4.56% or 0.580 points to 13.310 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tumosan Motor ve Traktor Sanayi AS (IS:TMSN), which lost 1.61% or 0.120 points to trade at 7.320 in late trade. GSD Holding AS (IS:GSDHO) declined 1.52% or 0.010 points to end at 0.650 and Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) shed 1.51% or 0.380 points to 24.820.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 254 to 91 and 57 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.89% or 11.30 to $1254.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.93% or 0.52 to hit $56.48 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.18% or 0.72 to trade at $61.94 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.28% to 3.8609, while EUR/TRY rose 0.27% to 4.5555.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 93.67.
