Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Tourism and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK), which rose 8.62% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.260 at the close. Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR) added 6.61% or 0.080 points to end at 1.290 and Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ) was up 6.59% or 0.060 points to 0.970 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO), which lost 3.80% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.760 in late trade. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 3.23% or 0.010 points to end at 0.300 and Konya Cimento Sanayi AS (IS:KONYA) shed 2.38% or 4.50 points to 184.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 263 to 110 and 36 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.06% or 0.70 to $1229.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.86% or 1.44 to hit $51.86 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 3.07% or 1.81 to trade at $60.85 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.67% to 5.2518, while EUR/TRY fell 0.39% to 5.9604.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 96.882.
