Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Tourism and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.00% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Enerya Enerji AS (IS:ENERY), which rose 9.95% or 25.00 points to trade at 276.25 at the close. Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN) added 7.94% or 1.68 points to end at 22.84 and Yeo Teknoloji Enerji ve Endustri AS (IS:YEOTK) was up 7.57% or 14.60 points to 207.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sok Marketler (IS:SOKM), which lost 4.26% or 1.80 points to trade at 40.44 in late trade. ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI) declined 2.98% or 1.60 points to end at 52.05 and Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) shed 2.67% or 3.10 points to 113.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 414 to 148 and 16 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 2.54% or 68.55 to $2,626.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.05% or 2.15 to hit $68.23 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.76% or 2.04 to trade at $71.83 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.89% to 34.34, while EUR/TRY fell 0.60% to 36.58.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 105.51.
