Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Sports, Insurance and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA), which rose 6.15% or 7.90 points to trade at 136.40 at the close. Bera Holding AS (IS:BERA) added 5.67% or 1.02 points to end at 19.02 and EIS Eczacibasi Ilac Sinai ve Finansal Yatirimlar Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ECILC) was up 5.11% or 2.55 points to 52.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tab Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:TABGD), which lost 3.62% or 7.50 points to trade at 199.90 in late trade. Hektas Ticaret TAS (IS:HEKTS) declined 3.45% or 0.42 points to end at 11.77 and Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK) shed 2.78% or 0.12 points to 4.19.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 434 to 120 and 16 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.15% or 3.50 to $2,335.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.30% or 0.25 to hit $83.63 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.42 to trade at $87.02 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.19% to 32.57, while EUR/TRY fell 0.53% to 34.96.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 105.50.
