Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Insurance and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.97%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Oba Makarnacilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:OBAMS), which rose 7.67% or 2.80 points to trade at 39.30 at the close. Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN) added 6.17% or 0.87 points to end at 14.97 and Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) was up 5.71% or 4.70 points to 87.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MLP Saglik Hizmetleri AS (IS:MPARK), which lost 9.95% or 35.50 points to trade at 321.25 in late trade. Baticim Bati Anadolu Cimento Sanayi AS (IS:BTCIM) declined 5.68% or 9.60 points to end at 159.40 and 1000 Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:BINHO) shed 3.96% or 13.00 points to 315.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 281 to 271 and 26 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.16% or 4.20 to $2,631.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.69% or 0.51 to hit $73.06 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.88% or 0.68 to trade at $76.50 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.06% to 34.22, while EUR/TRY fell 0.48% to 37.48.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 102.56.
