Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Holdings & Investments sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.80% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK), which rose 4.65% or 1.22 points to trade at 27.46 at the close. Koc Holding AS (IS:KCHOL) added 4.39% or 7.70 points to end at 182.90 and MLP Saglik Hizmetleri AS (IS:MPARK) was up 3.99% or 14.25 points to 371.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adel Kalemcilik Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:ADEL), which lost 5.08% or 2.14 points to trade at 39.96 in late trade. Kaleseramik Canakkale Kalebodur Seramik Sanayi AS (IS:KLSER) declined 2.53% or 0.86 points to end at 33.10 and Kocaer Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KCAER) shed 2.22% or 0.84 points to 36.96.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 339 to 218 and 20 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.07% or 1.75 to $2,604.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.81% or 0.55 to hit $67.57 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.74% or 0.53 to trade at $71.36 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.02% to 34.34, while EUR/TRY fell 0.42% to 36.34.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 106.22.
