Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Electricity and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chaintech Technology Corp (TW:2425), which rose 10.00% or 2.70 points to trade at 29.70 at the close. Spirox Corp (TW:3055) added 10.00% or 3.00 points to end at 33.00 and Ji-Haw Industrial Co Ltd (TW:3011) was up 9.98% or 0.81 points to 8.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526), which lost 9.91% or 4.60 points to trade at 41.80 in late trade. Eastern Technologies Holding Ltd (TW:5225) declined 9.85% or 2.35 points to end at 21.50 and Abocom Systems Inc (TW:2444) shed 9.72% or 2.80 points to 26.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 518 to 307 and 87 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.10% or 0.07 to $70.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $78.21 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.55% or 7.20 to trade at $1311.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.14% to 29.865, while TWD/CNY rose 0.19% to 0.2124.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 92.60.
