Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Information Services and Computers & Peripherals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Loop Telecommunication International Inc (TW:3025), which rose 10.00% or 2.05 points to trade at 22.55 at the close. Jui Li Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1512) added 10.00% or 1.20 points to end at 13.20 and Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) was up 9.94% or 3.60 points to 39.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ocean Plastics Co Ltd (TW:1321), which lost 9.91% or 3.45 points to trade at 31.35 in late trade. Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526) declined 9.87% or 3.35 points to end at 30.60 and Winbond Electronics Corp (TW:2344) shed 5.18% or 1.25 points to 22.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 462 to 293 and 120 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.58% or 0.27 to $46.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.47% or 0.24 to hit $51.66 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.68% or 8.92 to trade at $1324.22 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.06% to 30.137, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2203.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 92.04.
