Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Electricity and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Compeq Manufacturing Co Ltd (TW:2313), which rose 9.95% or 4.25 points to trade at 46.95 at the close. Darfon Electronics Corp (TW:8163) added 9.84% or 2.75 points to end at 30.70 and Falcon Power Co Ltd (TW:1516) was up 9.80% or 1.70 points to 19.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526), which lost 10.00% or 5.40 points to trade at 48.60 in late trade. Lily Textile Co Ltd (TW:1443) declined 9.93% or 0.58 points to end at 5.26 and Bright Led Electronics Corp (TW:3031) shed 5.51% or 1.10 points to 18.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 393 to 362 and 124 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.58% or 0.33 to $56.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.57% or 0.36 to hit $63.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.71 to trade at $1277.51 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.04% to 30.179, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.2204.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 94.80.
