Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.16% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 9.95% or 2.00 points to trade at 22.10 at the close. RichWave Technology Corp (TW:4968) added 9.90% or 19.00 points to end at 211.00 and Grand Ocean Retail Group Ltd (TW:5907) was up 9.87% or 1.10 points to 12.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lead Data Inc (TW:2443), which lost 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 in late trade. Chung Fu Tex-International Corp (TW:1435) declined 4.08% or 1.70 points to end at 39.95 and Parpro Corp (TW:4916) shed 3.24% or 1.10 points to 32.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.63% or 0.43 to $68.43 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.63% or 0.45 to hit $72.29 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 1.33% or 35.68 to trade at $2,645.32 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.52% to 32.62, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 106.27.
