Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Electronics and Electrical/Machinery sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 2.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Logah Technology Corp (TW:3593), which rose 9.97% or 0.60 points to trade at 6.62 at the close. Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) added 9.95% or 2.20 points to end at 24.30 and Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd (TW:4912) was up 9.81% or 10.50 points to 117.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lead Data Inc (TW:2443), which lost 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 in late trade. Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424) declined 6.47% or 4.80 points to end at 69.40 and Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374) shed 5.19% or 7.00 points to 128.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.25% or 0.17 to $68.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.33% or 0.24 to hit $72.07 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 6.47 to trade at $2,664.97 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.10% to 32.64, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.13% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 106.48.
