Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Glass, Construction and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 1.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Headway Advanced Materials Inc (TW:1776) added 10.00% or 2.30 points to end at 25.30 and Sunko Ink Co Ltd (TW:1721) was up 9.98% or 2.20 points to 24.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Huang Hsiang Construction Corp (TW:2545), which lost 10.00% or 6.50 points to trade at 58.50 in late trade. Farglory Land Development Co Ltd (TW:5522) declined 10.00% or 7.90 points to end at 71.10 and Da-Li Development Co Ltd (TW:6177) shed 9.98% or 6.00 points to 54.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.79% or 0.56 to $71.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.73% or 0.54 to hit $74.23 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 7.50 to trade at $2,653.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.16% to 32.03, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.18% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 100.49.
