Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Computers & Peripherals, Semiconductor and Biotech & Medical Care sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 1.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Bonny Worldwide Ltd (TW:8467), which rose 10.00% or 24.50 points to trade at 269.50 at the close. Creative Sensor Inc (TW:8249) added 9.95% or 3.15 points to end at 34.80 and Foxsemicon Integrated Technology Inc (TW:3413) was up 9.87% or 31.00 points to 345.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which lost 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Enlight Corp (TW:2438) shed 9.66% or 5.10 points to 47.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.02% or 0.69 to $68.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.91% or 0.65 to hit $71.71 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 5.40 to trade at $2,519.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.17% to 32.10, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.14% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 101.34.
