Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Electricity, Plastic and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were CMC Magnetics Corp (TW:2323), which rose 9.98% or 0.640 points to trade at 7.050 at the close. Jinli Group Holdings Ltd (TW:8429) added 9.97% or 1.90 points to end at 20.95 and Young Optics Inc (TW:3504) was up 9.97% or 5.90 points to 65.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526), which lost 9.97% or 5.70 points to trade at 51.50 in late trade. Aces Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3605) declined 9.96% or 2.60 points to end at 23.50 and Associated Industries China Inc (TW:9912) shed 9.56% or 0.98 points to 9.27.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 428 to 390 and 95 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.11% or 0.08 to $71.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.21% or 0.16 to hit $77.31 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.40 to trade at $1319.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.15% to 29.768, while TWD/CNY fell 0.19% to 0.2132.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 92.66.
