Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Electricity, Paper & Pulp and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ene Technology Inc (TW:6243), which rose 9.94% or 1.65 points to trade at 18.25 at the close. Tri Ocean Textile Co Ltd (TW:1472) added 9.88% or 1.60 points to end at 17.80 and Jui Li Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1512) was up 9.85% or 1.30 points to 14.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hiyes International Co Ltd (TW:2348), which lost 6.08% or 1.90 points to trade at 29.35 in late trade. Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526) declined 5.88% or 1.80 points to end at 28.80 and Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) shed 4.51% or 2.90 points to 61.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 535 to 242 and 95 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.17% or 0.08 to $46.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.15% or 0.08 to hit $51.58 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.48% or 6.34 to trade at $1312.56 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.16% to 30.147, while TWD/CNY fell 0.41% to 0.2169.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 92.45.
