Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Biotech & Medical Care and Electronics sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.62% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Parpro Corp (TW:4916) added 9.89% or 3.20 points to end at 35.55 and MiTAC Holdings Corp (TW:3706) was up 9.87% or 4.85 points to 54.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ALi Corp (TW:3041), which lost 39.85% or 13.08 points to trade at 19.75 in late trade. Chien Kuo Construction Co Ltd (TW:5515) declined 20.18% or 5.54 points to end at 21.90 and GeoVision Inc (TW:3356) shed 10.86% or 7.56 points to 62.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.45% or 0.32 to $70.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.32% or 0.24 to hit $73.63 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.67% or 18.00 to trade at $2,676.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.30% to 32.35, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.18% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 104.98.
