Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Rubber, Other Electronic and Auto sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Bonny Worldwide Ltd (TW:8467), which rose 10.00% or 2.50 points to trade at 27.50 at the close. Enterex International Ltd (TW:1592) added 9.96% or 2.45 points to end at 27.05 and Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) was up 9.92% or 3.15 points to 34.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BES Engineering Co (TW:2515), which lost 7.39% or 0.60 points to trade at 7.52 in late trade. Yageo Corp (TW:2327) declined 7.09% or 24.00 points to end at 314.50 and Unimicron Technology Corp (TW:3037) shed 5.17% or 1.25 points to 22.95.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 465 to 331 and 112 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.25% or 0.13 to $51.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.53% or 0.32 to hit $60.47 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1250.25 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.13% to 30.820, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2233.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 97.053.
