Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Optoelectronic and Chemical/Bio & Medical care sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were BizLink Holding Inc (TW:3665), which rose 10.00% or 14.50 points to trade at 159.50 at the close. Chaun-Choung Technology Corp (TW:6230) added 9.95% or 8.50 points to end at 93.90 and Leadtek Research Inc (TW:2465) was up 9.93% or 1.35 points to 14.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tatung Co (TW:2371), which lost 7.69% or 3.10 points to trade at 37.20 in late trade. Asmedia Technology Inc (TW:5269) declined 7.36% or 39.50 points to end at 497.50 and Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526) shed 6.54% or 1.70 points to 24.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 555 to 227 and 127 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.27% or 0.20 to $73.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.42% or 0.35 to hit $83.08 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.48% or 5.70 to trade at $1190.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.29% to 30.538, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2252.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 94.90.
