Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Transport, Information Services and Semiconductor sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chia Her Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1449), which rose 10.00% or 2.65 points to trade at 29.15 at the close. Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) added 9.94% or 24.50 points to end at 271.00 and China Container Terminal Corp (TW:2613) was up 9.94% or 3.20 points to 35.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which lost 9.98% or 2.90 points to trade at 26.15 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Young Fast Optoelectronics Co Ltd (TW:3622) shed 9.59% or 6.80 points to 64.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.63% or 0.43 to $67.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.57% or 0.41 to hit $71.73 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 4.06 to trade at $2,689.86 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was unchanged 0.00% to 32.43, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.27% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 105.75.
