Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Iron & Steel, Glass and Information Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were X-Legend (TW:4994), which rose 9.87% or 5.90 points to trade at 65.70 at the close. 1St Copper Tec (TW:2009) added 9.81% or 0.67 points to end at 7.50 and Tri Ocean Text (TW:1472) was up 9.66% or 1.15 points to 13.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Shunsin Tech Holdings (TW:6451), which lost 9.95% or 10.80 points to trade at 97.70 in late trade. Yang Ming Mari (TW:2609) declined 9.93% or 0.68 points to end at 6.17 and Kinko Optical (TW:6209) shed 9.91% or 2.25 points to 20.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 389 to 363 and 118 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $44.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.26% or 0.12 to hit $46.27 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.34% or 4.35 to trade at $1283.75 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.19% to 31.455, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2150.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 97.72.
