Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Rubber, Optoelectronic and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Advancetek Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1442) added 10.00% or 6.50 points to end at 71.50 and Bestec Power Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3308) was up 10.00% or 2.35 points to 25.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Onano Industrial Corp (TW:6405), which lost 9.92% or 4.90 points to trade at 44.50 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Chia Ta World Co Ltd (TW:2033) shed 6.70% or 1.80 points to 25.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.12% or 0.08 to $67.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $71.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.65% or 16.70 to trade at $2,586.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.23% to 32.55, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.04% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 106.63.
