Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 added 1.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA), which rose 2.89% or 8.5 points to trade at 302.4 at the close. Lundin Petroleum AB (ST:LUPE) added 2.40% or 3.60 points to end at 153.30 and Svenska Handelsbanken ser. A (ST:SHBa) was up 2.28% or 2.1 points to 94.1 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Getinge AB ser. B (ST:GETIBs), which added 0.29% or 0.5 points to trade at 172.1 in late trade. Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson B (ST:ERICb) added 0.37% or 0.23 points to end at 63.23 and Nokia Oyj (ST:NOKIA) gained 0.62% or 0.28 points to 45.45.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 395 to 174 and 55 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.74% or 1.30 to $46.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.75% or 1.34 to hit $47.46 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.66% or 9.05 to trade at $1358.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.26% to 9.4868, while USD/SEK rose 0.63% to 8.5782.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 96.32.
