Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Motors and Trading sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ), which rose 24.39% or 6.00 points to trade at 30.60 at the close. Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) was up 17.50% or 70.00 points to 470.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which lost 16.67% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 in late trade. Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) declined 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and CIC Holdings PLC (CM:CIC) shed 10.54% or 5.10 points to 43.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 73 and 60 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.34% or 0.23 to $67.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.78% or 0.60 to hit $77.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 0.70 to trade at $1199.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.16% to 211.205, while USD/LKR fell 0.11% to 162.210.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 95.22.
